Lloyd's of London has long used its offices as a vibrant expression of its ethos "Constant Originality". Lloyd's wanted a workspace that dramatized its ethos and reputation for professionalism and integrity. This was achieved by creating an office design of the utmost simplicity and transparency. Demonstrating Lloyd's commitment to China in a credible yet understated way, the layout takes full advantage of the spectacular views: staff and visitors are surrounded by a "living wallpaper" that changes as the city itself changes. "The Bund" and "Pearl Tower" represent past and present; Lloyd's becomes the gateway to Shanghais future.
